Forty years of craft.
Sonia’s story began at 14, when she started sewing independently and followed an instinctive fascination with how cloth behaves on a body. She spent years pursuing the craft around the world — at times giving her work freely for the chance to learn from people who were better than her.
In a world of fast fashion, Sonia built her craft slowly: one fitting, one garment and one exacting standard at a time. That is still how the workroom runs today.

- 1. Bring your garment
Come to the Queen Street workroom with the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear. Fifteen minutes in person beats any photo.
- 2. Fit & discuss
Sonia pins the garment on you, talks through the result you want and advises on what the fabric and construction will allow.
- 3. Final fitting
Collect the finished piece, or return for a final fitting where the work calls for it. Timing is confirmed with you directly.

Simple alterations are often ready within a few days. Wedding gowns and complex formalwear usually need two to three fittings across several weeks. Sonia confirms timing with you at your first fitting.
How much do alterations cost?
Pricing depends on the garment, the fabric and the work involved, so Sonia quotes after seeing the piece. Bring it in or call the workroom and she'll give you a clear price before any work starts.
